Where is the public and media outrage?The Mayor of Cincinnati cut off any ability for city council to discuss police layoffs yesterday at the Cincinnati City Council meeting. Because of his actions, members of Cincinnati City Council had to call a special session of council (at taxpayer expense) to do what could have EASILY been done yesterday!
Fair, open, and honest debate on public policy is the backbone of our American democracy. The Mayor controls the agenda at city council meetings according to the city charter. He has abused that authority by stifling fair discussion about this critical city issue.
